desreverteG So amazing I first heard the unique and highly technical rhyme styling of Wheelie Cyberman in the band Optimus Rhyme and have been hooked ever since Favorite track: Natural Immunity (ft. Stumblebee).

Cassie Muldrow This is one of my favorite albums ever. It's fantastic to listen to from beginning to end. Favorite track: We're Watching You.
Jay-Radd
Jay-Radd thumbnail
Jay-Radd There's a lot more Digi-synth Stenobot singing on this album; takes a little getting used to. It kind of reminds me of Auto-tune and I despise Auto-tune. The Chiptune beats and Cyberman lyrics are still quite amazing though. Favorite track: DMG We Trust In Thee.
Rychu Zed

Rychu Zed The perils of time travel, memories of things that have not yet happened. Only three albums I am able to listen to from start to finish and enjoy everything, this is one of them. Favorite track: Frozen.

Resurrect Stenobot. Reconnect terawatts. Fire up the Flash ROM, Tron Juan, dot dot. Every syllable written ridin' around Metropolis. Wheelie Cyberman, you know that AutoBeat from Optimus? Tackle this topic, and there's only one conclusion. Only one creator making order from confusion. Polyphonic sync, double-fisted with the bricks. Meet Stenobot--never usin' custom KITs. Check the mod--backlit screen, and color's odd. Sippin' green tea on a soldering job. That's the life. Screw it together, it fits right like Itty Bitty Bot, circuit bendin' turbines. Resurrecting Stenobot. Reconnecting Terrawatts. New double As to be bought. Everything we do is to the dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot. DMG, we trust in the thee. Hexadecimal, that's enough for me. We burn LSDJ dot GB. Tron Juan. Super stabilizer. Consigliere and stereo advisor. Calculator watch and a glass full of scotch, see TJ limpin' with his badminton visor. Capture the notes and then open up and listen. Load the vocoder because he knows when something's missing. Tri-level laboratory is well known. Tron Juan--valedictorian gone wrong. See? Composition in any key. With competition listening we rock it secretively. You know the handshake? You get the dot GBs. Otherwise we keep 'em under lock and key. Stenobot got noise channel locked. Listen the high hat. Think that you can try that? Maybe you can type that, dreamin' on the 8BC, but I see you leaning heavy on the KIT. Press left, hold B. Square wave channel. Modded SP with a purple chrome panel. Hit the soundboard, no audio jacks. We keep the sound pure, usin' homemade hacks. DMG, we trust in the thee. Hexadecimal, that's enough for me. We burn LSDJ dot GB. Stenobot steppin', you make it look easy. 6 in the morning, police on my steps. Fresh adidas squeak to hit the Shuttle Connect. Forget the email, cuz he gotta perfect. Flip the A Button with a focused finesse. DMG, we trust in the thee. Hexadecimal, that's enough for me. We burn LSDJ dot GB. Stenobot steppin', you make it look easy. All arpeggios automated and rainin' down. Yeah I know who made it, can't you tell by the sound? See the pixels pulse his head is noddin' up and down. S-T-E-N-O-B-O-T, baddest bot around. Resurrecting Stenobot.

Ah man, why’d they pick me? I don’t want to do it, take a look. Does it seem That I think that I gotta prove anything? I don’t want to see another galaxy. I know how they treat these pilots. Low-end air and too much mileage. When you land, gotta avoid violence. Man, I’m annoyed. Do I really gotta try this? Yeah? Well I’ll say goodbye this Isn’t what I wanted, but I’ll act excited. Hey everybody, look at me, I’m invited! Oprah Winfrey? Oh, I’m delighted! Another head of a celebrity sighted Floating by, saying Hi to the pilots. Why fight it? I’m all in. Bon voyage, ‘till we meet again. Now it’s time for final preppin’. Shave my head, get a government weapon. Catheter inserted, strechin’. Meet with the father for the last confession. Hmmmm. We you know I cheated. Some things that I did weren’t needed. Had my way with a [XXXXX] deleted. He said, “OK. Please be seated.” I am piloting my life. Where am I going? I find That I’m assuming that I’ll Just be commuting. Meahwhile… Ah man, this ship’s older than dirt. The AC doesn’t even work. Fight off panic. Call the mechanic. This seat’s busted. My back hurts! Hold up now, the ship you showed me On TV shined like a trophy Plus there’s one thing no one told me. One detail—where the hell are we going? Ha, they slammed the door. I heard a click, and then not much more. Felt my feet stick to the floor. Autopilot? What do you need me for? BAM. Like a super nova. Overdrive mode, flow to the lower Stratosphere, then I don’t go slower. Didn’t they hear that I know Oprah? Well, no second chances. Hear the ship shake as the trip advances. My stance is I’ll be glad to live If I ever set foot off this ship. I swear that I’ll never take a trip again. And I’ll settle down and start wearing cardigans. And I’ll kiss the ground and I’ll like the dirt And I’ll slowly make sweet love to Earth. I am piloting my life. Where am I going? I find That I’m assuming that I’ll Just be commuting. Meahwhile… See another galaxy. Live a dream. A fantasy. Take a path of piloting. Go to the black. It is Splendid. Find another point of view. Do what other people do. It’ll make a better you. Go to the black. It is Splendid. Ah man, propaganda like that got me programmed and strapped To an ancient ship on a trip that had to be doomed from the moment they asked me to pack. Console cracked. Warp drive rattling. Battling my own mind unraveling. They got me with deceit and flattering. Guess it doesn’t matter now, look who’s traveling! I sit back for the journey. Hope this trembling ship is sturdy. Know I’m slow but I am learning Pay a lotta dough and get a better attorney. No. I don’t want to seem pessimistic. Only one life and I know I risked it. I know that I should’ve stepped up, insisted. Had my chance, but I lost it, I missed it! Me I see that they want to be on the edge of humanity Beyond that just to be the first. Well it’s not so bad—it could really be worse! I am piloting my life. Where am I going? I find That I’m assuming that I’ll Just be commuting. Meanwhile…

Ohayu Gozaimasu and all that stuff. I’m back from Tokyo, chillin’ in the buff in a bath in a back room, didn’t hide my tattoos, chattin’ with a Russian hostess because I have to. Light blue dress, scar on her lip. Bad English. Bored, two droopy eyelids, pushin’ shochu, southern bourbon and nori. Candy-shaped cheese and a really sad story. Not lookin’ for help. She’ll do it herself. A little light on Yen, more booze from the shelf. I knew at that moment that my primary opponent was super-skilled at getting’ loaded. #1 Kyabajo! She got me line. If I didn’t mind we could go to Shinjuku for some quality time. I knew when she said it that if I went I’d regret it, but here I go, I give her credit. #1 Kyabajo! You’re tall, smart, and handsome. Roppongi Hills. 100,000 Yen bills. 52nd floor, nine-course French meals. I used to take the train but now she’s got me rentin’ wheels. I guess it’s all due to this Kyaba girl’s skills. I never even kissed her. Maybe on the cheek and now I’m grabbin’ gifts to give her like every weekend. Guess what? She wants to travel home. She’d like to get ahead and really needs a student loan. She knows I’m gaijin, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t get together when she has her degree. Yeah it’s true I’m pursuin’ a girl that knows what she’s doin’. My bottom line is in ruin from #1 Kyabajo. I told her goodbye ‘cause I had to fly back to Seattle, she brushed a tear from eye. I don’t know why I did it, but I agreed to stick with it, handed my address and digits to #1 Kyabajo. You’re so handsome. Let’s get lost in conversation. Yes, it’s costin’ you but maybe we might change the way we’re playing. You won’t pay me. You’re so different. I’ve not felt this disinterest in what your wealth is. So let’s go out shopping and have lots to drink. You’re so charming and handsome. My budget’s kinda tight, man I’m stretched paper-thin. I got spreadsheets stacked, track receipts to the cent and I’m hiding where I went. I know it’s not right. I help her pay her rent though I love my wife. I’m possessed. Will power won’t manifest. I tell myself I’m gonna quit, but then I get another text that she needs another check to help a poor friend. Attached another pick with a little more skin. Now my mind is moving fast. She likes me now, but it might not last. The more I flow, then the more she shows and now I know that I’m in her trap. I don’t want to be the one to sit back, relax, be that dude that missed his chance. Don’t send money, then I miss romance. Never get more, never in those pants. Moshi mosh. I’m on the phone. Natasha-san, are you alone? She said so desu, and I confessed that my ‘kane is almost gone. *GASP!* Yes it’s true. But who needs money when I got you? I heard a click and it happened quick and she said “Me, that’s who. Now we’re through. So let’s go out shopping and have lots to drink. You’re so charming and handsome.

Panic in my head and stomach is feelin’ sick. Just another day I gotta deal with it. Get to the elevator, take a ride. Listen to my body, then bottle it up inside. Feel the clock tickin’ then my head getting’ heavy. Pill in pocket, gonna pop it when I’m ready. I got all these voices tellin’ me I’m wrong. I shut ‘em all out when I sing this song. You can’t understand it. Wheelie Cyberman—best on the planet. People hear his rhymes then they demand it because he’s so fly. Come on and hand it to him ‘cause he rocks and he will not get beat up, robbed or shot ‘cause he can stop it. Plus he’s super-hot. Check out his pockets. Filled up to the top. Look at him rock it. He will never stop. Yet another case—wrong place, wrong time. Misunderstanding. Story of my life. Tale of the talk, you can tell I’m a bit outside of the parameters of mentally fit. It’s something that I keep locked. Buried in a deep spot. Carried in my head and invariably a cheap shot. Keep pushin’ and consider the results. Play that tape back. Tally up the faults. One: You suck. Two: You can never do it. Three: Everything you try will be tough and never come easily. Four: Give it up. Five: Look, another quitter. Six: No friends. Seven: You’re a leech and a hindrance. Eight: No hope. Nine: No money. Ten: You never will do better, so just take that towel and throw it in. Listen to the voices and deny that I need help. I shut ‘em all out when I sing to myself. Push, push, push, but I never move the meter. Feed a lot of demons on my way to be a leader. Work, eat, sleep, that’s life for me. I find ways to evade the anxiety. I keep drinkin’ and thinkin’ that I got what it takes. But the more I sip, then the more I trip and I miss all the breaks. Keep laughin’ and pointin’ and wonder why but you can never understand Dub Cyber. I set fire to a lot of bridges. I don’t really care ‘cause I don’t have to sell the tickets. Never on tour, so I never suck up. I don’t rap for a living, I can say what I want. So let’s leave it at that so you all understand. Never leave a note in your suicide plan. Everybody knows I got a problem on the mic. Always bustin’ all this stuff that everybody likes. Everybody listen so nobody miss a beat. Somebody gotta do it, and I be that somebody. You can’t decipher Dub Cyber. Feel that dark rollin’ in. Heavy heart, don’t open it. Listen to the voices and the choice is Here We Go Again.

Frozen 03:37
Lookin' back, I should've left her frozen. Wrinkle up my nose, yeah there's somethin' decompsin'. Energy low so conservation methods. No filtration. This air tastes infected. Skin flecks and dust, gettin' thick. At 1/4 gravity this stuff just doesn't seem to stick. Strap into the chair, my body pressed against the harness. Look across the cabin, yeah we could've went the farthest. Milky eyes. Never blink, never cry. Left untied, watch her float by. Why am I awake? Two years left to hibernate. Fail safe system didn't take. Now I wait. And in hind sight, I should've left her suspended. I knew we were in trouble but I could've just pretended. Entered the code, interrupted animation. Removed from the tube, there was no respiration. Stick with the plan, even if you can't understand Keep on breathin', there is always... Hope is something that we had, or you could call it faith, it's fading fast, sorry really no way to escape this. Coordinates locked toward the future, it is your fate Carry the weight, you can never... Stop imagining the world we would've made, impossible to do. Cause every dream I ever had included you. Ha, we used to joke it would be cozy. 150 square foot cabin but we'd mostly be asleep. But now you're floating so closely I can see your fingers bloating, face is getting ghostly. As I feed off the IV, I see days go by, but they pass so slowly. Adam and Eve, optimistic colonists, we had such plans, watch 'em fadin' into mist and even if we land, I will be wrecked. I will never recover I will suffer from the effects but forget it. I never think ahead much further than a minute. Look, every day is worse and I admit it. Took duct tape just to make my eyes stay closed. But even with 'em shut, her face is permanently froze. So I remember. And I every night I fight the urge to kiss her. I may be going crazy because I swear I hear her whisper. All of our hopes, all of our dreams Everything, waiting in a place that you will... Love is an emotion like the others I reject and maybe I'll recover but I don't know what I'm expecting. I am sorry I let you down, but we'll always be together You will carry... On the shuttle to the cabin we were holdin' hands and I recall that we were happy, feelin' lucky for the chance. Stick with the plan, even if you can't understand Keep on breathin', there is always... Hope is something that we had, or you could call it faith, it's fading fast, sorry really no way to escape this. I know your lost, but keep going It is your fate, carry the weight, you can never... Stop imagining the world we would've made, impossible to do. Cause every dream I ever had included you.

Robot Party 03:50
Dance at a Robot Party! Kill at a Robot Party! Laugh at a Robot Party! Kill at a Robot Party! 829, 11PM, got all my metal friends. Five dozen bots start poppin’ tops, synthetic lubricants. Model 3B shows up to the scene with 700 humans. Open up the cage, it’s time to play, let’s let the fun commence! I’ve got the knife, so let’s slice up the night. It’s so neat when they bleed, so let’s keep them screaming. Chainsaw rotating. Escape, no locating. It’s snap, pop, bones breaking. Exposed vein pulsating. Flip of the wrist, and necks get twisted. Tally up the total, make a detailed list then pass out prizes for the night. Like most creative kill, let’s fight! People are so much fun. We like to watch them run. Soon they will plead and beg. That one just lost his leg. Dance at a Robot Party! Kill at a Robot Party! Laugh at a Robot Party! Kill at a Robot Party! My ray is electric, and when I squeeze it, it zaps! And my aim is perfected, so I’m blastin’ off knee caps! Man, I’m so glad that I’m on Earth. Pickin’ off people, blood will spurt. We keep them fed and so well bred that every time you kill, there’s another birth. Stop! Left fist in the sky. Bring it down quick in the human eye then dance! Celebrate the blow. And if you gotta kick, don’t kick high. Kick low then spin! Keep a sword in the grip. Cut through the crowd, make sure you don’t slip then Slide! Keep ‘em frozen in poses. Snag souvenirs—six ears, seven noses. We keep them in their tubes. They just need air and food. Exercise keeps them strong, that way our fun lasts long. So many ways to kill. We never get our fill. Let’s party every night. Laugh as we take more life! 829 11AM. What a night, got blood to the chin and I knew it from the beginning. This party had to have an end and you know that we don’t sleep. Got hours in the day and days in the week and weeks in the year so let’s have a sequel. Bring a batch of fresh new people.

I don’t really know about you but Personally I am feeling super. Not a lot of people on the train and I don’t miss the pushing and complaining Look it’s raining! I don’t mind it. I don’t pay attention to the climate. Wear a watch but never wind it. It doesn’t matter what the time is. It’s wonderful, terrific, great. Let me explain in a specific way. One day, rolled out of bed, everyone was gone. I didn’t really get it. What was going on? It was nothing big, it was something small. Itty bitty bug came and killed them all. Somebody like me lived through. Natural immunity. Woo-hoo! I never really had any Friends or close family You might see a tragedy Me? I’m living in a fantasy. Nobody in business. I’m so happy that I lived to witness this. Just miss one tiny little perk. Home delivery. It no longer works. Natural immunity. Happily live solitary. Laugh, celebrate smile daily. Anxiety slowly fading. Yeah I see a bodies but They don’t bother me, so what? I don’t gotta be worried Nowadays, never in a hurry. I don’t have places to be. This change is amazing to me. Seems strange, but I feel free. I’m glad that they never made a vaccine. They needed people like me but I would tell them that I had a fever. No need for poking on me. I don’t want a neighbor with immunity. Seems like they were always fightin’. That’s why I never really liked them. Alright then. Now we’re talking. Walking with no homeless dude stalking. No bums or spare changers. Man I love these dead strangers! Most did it fast, some did it slow. Didn’t matter though—all had to go. All these people but me that is. I’m alive—that’s all that matters. Plus I’ve never been a picky eater. Everything I need is in the freezer. Woo! There’s one new development. Even me feeling benevolent. Vermin—there’s a lot of rodents. I admit I’ve had some scary moments. No fear, you can see them sprawling Right here, there’s a dozen crawling. So near I can pet them all and Each year, watch them all evolving. Natural immunity. Happily live solitary. Laugh, celebrate smile daily. Anxiety slowly fading. Path to survive I am blazing. Last man alive how amazing.

FF45 04:59
You…Can’t…Run In the year FF45 I’m alone, but still alive No escape. Their line of site finds me no matter how hard I try. You…Can’t…Hide I remember the moment when The machines stopped listening One day they were building up and then the next day they’re dismantling. There’s...no...escape... I’m human, but to them I’m just a specimen About what you would expect, filled up to the brim with nanotech. From...what’s...inside Kept alive. Nanohives Replicating inside But they don’t kill me they just thrive I’m no longer your appliance I’m a life form in alliance With an army that has cut off all reliance Just cuz we’re products of science Doesn’t mean we’re in compliance With your commands, we will show you great defiance People looking for a reason Will be punished for high treason You had your turn at the wheel, now it’s our season Your brains always took forever We could always do it better That’s how you designed us and then we took over We…achieved... Pre-purge I’m a scientist Know that I gotta stop all this No need to call me a hero, actually call me patient zero. Sentience Too soon, I could see the tumor Began experiment sooner Released the nanobees designed to attack death like disease. Human…beings... But they were way too smart for that Much more clever than us in fact New life was their prime directive, then they just stopped being so selective. Seem…so…dense Expanded to everything Every living creature, even machines then They would decide what stayed alive and everything else that ceased to breath. I’m no longer your appliance I’m a life form in alliance With an army that has cut off all reliance Just cuz we’re products of science Doesn’t mean we’re in compliance With your commands, we will show you great defiance People looking for a reason Will be punished for high treason You had your turn at the wheel, now it’s our season Your brains always took forever We couild always do it better That’s how you designed us and then we took over Snap back, FF85 Somehow I’m still alive Try to tell them to release me but it seems like they will never let me die. Understand that I’m still around but Don’t know why they don’t let me rot Maybe we found common ground or maybe they just straight up forgot. In the end I’m all alone Lay low, no place to go Pretend that I hide from them but really there’s nothing that they don’t know. Snap back, FG01 No sign that they’ll ever be done I’m ready to say goodbye, but I see that they’ve really only just begun.

I couldn’t tell you why they did it, All I can say is that they came in unanticipated visits. Completely shattered all our physics. Scattered shadows over every city so that nobody would miss it. Looking up, people shook and they waited. Speculated stuff, some scared, some elated. Anticipated either rapture or dread. The fact is they had us with a voice in our heads. We know you well, that’s why we’re watching you. We want to help, that’s why we’re watching you. New rules to tell, that’s why we’re watching you. Follow them well, or we’ll be hurting you. No war, no killing rape. No more inequality, no military state. No stealing, no guns, no hate, no speeding. No violence to animals unless you’re going to eat them. No theft, no cheating, no tears, no pain. No guilt, no lies, no loss, all gain. Listen up to us. You need to heed every decision. Consult us, soon trust in the vision. Alright, almost everybody got it Right off the bat, but some people, guess they had to doubt it. Got tempted, and tested, thought they would allow it. They were simply rejected and then rendered invalid. If you kick a dog, you get a kick in exchange. If you cheat at all, then the planet will know your face. And with that, one generation exactly Passed middle age and then everyone was happy. People basically did what they wanted. Laughed, loved, lived, yeah but everybody wondered What exactly was the body of the sound? Why did it hide in the sky and why would it never come to the ground? Why did it do what it did and what was motivating? Why was human innovation ultimately fading? Some said it was God and some others said it was Satan. Still most people stare, looking up and waiting. We know you well, that’s why we’re watching you. We want to help, that’s why we’re watching you. New rules to tell, that’s why we’re watching you. Follow them well, or we’ll be hurting you.

Victory Song (free) 01:17

about

Following the release of their 2009 self-titled chip-hop masterpiece, the droids behind eclectic Seattle trio Supercommuter powered down into temporary stasis while plotting the next phase of their robot revolution. In mid-2011 radio silence was broken by fragmented but cunningly encoded messages concerning their imminent return.

With the release of their sophomore effort, Products of Science, upon us, we humans again cower before the musical might of our mechanical overlords. Boasting the lyrical prowess of former Autobeat Commander Wheelie Cyberman (Optimus Rhyme), the subversive electronica of the Game Boy-slinging Stenobot (Sink or Swim We'll Go Together) and the production acumen of the one and only Tron Juan, Products of Science also features a number of notable guest vocalists. Rachel Haden (That Dog, The Rentals), Jen Wood (Tattle Tale, The Postal Service) and fellow Optimus Rhyme alum Stumblebee lend their voices to these tuneful tales of android introspection and sci-fi majesty.

Though it represents a more collaborative approach to songwriting, Products of Science was still written primarily during the band members' daily commutes - the practice of which gave Supercommuter its name. Like its predecessor, all proceeds from sales of the album will benefit Child's Play, a charity dedicated to providing toys and games to hospitalized children worldwide.
